Already the eighth launch in two months: China brought the Chinasat-10r satellite to the orbit

On February 22, China launched the Chinasat-10R communication satellite, which should replace the outdated Chinasat-10. Long march 3B launch vehicle rose from the Sichan cosmodrome in the south-west of China and sent a satellite to orbit.

The Chinese Corporation of aerospace science and technology (CASC) confirmed the successful launch. The new satellite will provide communication services for transport, emergency response services, energy and forestry of China, as well as support countries participating in the Chinese initiative “Belt and the Way”.

Although CASC does not reveal details about the technology of the satellite, it is expected that Chinasat-10R will improve TV-broadcasting, Internet connection, radio broadcasting and other secure communication. The original CHINASAT-10 satellite was launched in 2011.

It was the eighth space launch of China in 2025. Even more missions are planned, including the launch of the Tianveen-2 spacecraft, designed to collect samples from an asteroid and Shenzhou-20, which will send a new crew to the Chinese space station Tiangun.
