Desktop View is a step towards taking Android a competitor to Samsung Dex, the popular function from Galaxy devices that turns the phone into a desktop when connecting to the monitor. In Android 16, an option will appear in the settings for developers. This means that the windows of the applications can be moved, their size is changed and used with the keyboard and the mouse. So far, the functionality is limited: there is no full -fledged taskbar or convenient launch of programs, but Google is actively refining the system.
Now the best Android Smartphones are powerful enough to replace the computer for many tasks, but they lacked suitable software. Desktop View can fix this.
Google has already improved the support of the mouse and keyboard in the latest versions of Android, and now adds new tools to work with external displays. So far it is a test function.
