Pro-Palestinian “hacktivist” group SN_BLACKMETA claimed responsibility for the attack in posts on X (formerly Twitter) and Telegram. They stated that their motivation stemmed from opposing the US government’s support for Israel.
In one of the now-deleted posts, SN_BLACKMETA criticized the archive as, although a “non-profit organization,” it “reflects US interests” that “harm lives abroad.”
The group previously claimed responsibility for a six-day DDoS attack on the same archive back in May, during which they generated tens of thousands of false requests for information per second.
