Huawei has created a medical unit that will develop the development of II solutions for diagnosis and the introduction of medical models of artificial intelligence into clinical practice.
The head of the direction was appointed Zhang Vaily, who previously worked in the field of storage of Huawei data.
The main goal of the team is to solve technical and ecosystem problems that interfere with the full integration of AI into medicine.
Previously, Huawei, together with the Ruijin hospital, introduced the Ruipath medical model to analyze pathologies. Vice President Huawei Zhou Yuephan identified three main obstacles to the introduction of AI in medicine:
- Adaptation of large language models for specific industries is necessary.
- Development and implementation require high qualifications and significant resources.
- The efficiency of AI-clusters remains low (accessibility of less than 50%).
Huawei intends to expand investments in medical artificial intelligence and increase its effectiveness in healthcare.
