Travel service MTS Travel and Bronevik.com have summed up the results of the summer tourist season. The average bill for accommodation in hotels and other accommodation facilities in Russia was 5.3 thousand rubles per night. Among the popular tourist cities, the most budget-friendly was Rybinsk in the Yaroslavl region – the average cost of accommodation per day was 3.2 thousand rubles. The city is attractive to tourists for its architecture and unusual signs in the pre-revolutionary style, and is also convenient for weekend trips from the central regions. Last summer, the number of bookings in hotels and apartments in Rybinsk increased by 64% year-on-year. This was reported to CNews by representatives of MTS.
Krasnodar took second place in terms of the most profitable accommodation in the summer – on average, travelers paid 3.3 thousand rubles per night for accommodation there. Staying in Krasnodar, tourists can conveniently explore the region and go on short trips to see tourist locations. In the summer, 31% more bookings were made in the city than a year earlier.
Irkutsk is the third destination with the lowest bill, at 3,500 rubles per day. Tourists come to Irkutsk first and foremost to then go to Baikal. The number of bookings in the capital of the Irkutsk region this summer increased by 18% year-on-year.
The most expensive housing in the summer could be rented at resorts near Sochi – in Sirius (10.7 thousand rubles per day), Krasnaya Polyana (10.2 thousand rubles per day) and Adler (8.6 thousand rubles per day), as well as in the resort towns of Kaliningrad Oblast Zelenogradsk (10 thousand rubles per day) and Svetlogorsk (8.6 thousand rubles per day).

According to MTS Travel, demand for tourist accommodation in the country in the summer period increased by 34% year-on-year. The top three cities by number of bookings were Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kazan. Moscow’s share is 13%, St. Petersburg and Kazan – 9% and 3% of all bookings in the country, respectively. In addition, about 7% of bookings by independent tourists were for resorts in the Krasnodar Territory.
