“Retinal implants as small as 2 mm can restore vision for visually impaired people,” a brain-computer interface developer reports

On October 21, 2024, Science Corporation, a brain-computer interface developer, implanted a chip just 2 mm under the retina of 38 patients suffering from “geographic atrophy,” which makes it difficult to see clearly in the center of the visual field. However, they report that their visual acuity has improved significantly. Science Corporation has named its series of systems containing retinal implants the “PRIMA system.”
