Since the launch of the registry on September 1, 2022, the total number of potential donors has reached more than 421 thousand. This expansion has allowed for a significant increase in the number of unrelated bone marrow transplants, which is planned to increase by 61%. Skvortsova emphasized that the network of organizations included in the register has increased 12.5 times.
According to the head of the FMBA, by 2025 it is planned to increase the number of potential donors to 500 thousand. This will make it possible to provide transplantation to at least 90% of citizens who need unrelated donors.
