Traditional carbon capture technologies are only effective under “highly concentrated conditions.” However, the UC Berkeley team’s material works well outdoors, where CO₂ concentrations are much lower. This ability, which is key to achieving negative carbon dioxide emissions, could be an important tool for achieving global climate goals, scientists say.
